Encounters
Portraits ordered by encounters in art fairs.
When sitting for a portrait, there is a kind of celebration of the self. Me as a work of art, a worthy praise for ones self as they are. What people don't think about is that it requires to sit for moments, between 20 minutes and half an hour, without moving, without distractions. But the hardest part about, it is to meet a pair of eyes. To look at them, seeing you, looking at you. Bare, and intimate.
When I paint people, I want most to give them the celebration of their beauty, each of them has a special beauty. To me seeing the beauty is not a challenge.. And yet there is a responsibility in the application. I have the romance and sentiments, to look like parents look at their children. To admire every eyelash and every curl.
I wish for everyone to feel this love.
